Cathedral Development Phase One:

Phase One of the Cathedral development was to re-wire and improve the lighting in the Cathedral. This will lower the Cathedral’s carbon footprint as well as make the most of our monuments and memorials.

Cathedral Development Phase Two:

Phase Two of the Cathedral development is to take out the pews, install underfloor heating, and re-locate the ledger stones.

The pews will be replaced with benches and stackable chairs. This will mean that all furniture can be removed from the Nave. With no furniture the Nave will become a much more flexible space for worship and events.

Phase Two also includes plans to update our visitor facilities, improving accessibility in the Cathedral and to the Education Centre.
