Membership of The Friends of St Nicholas is open to all.

The Friends enjoy the fellowship of a shared enthusiasm for the witness to the presence of God in our midst, and of the special place of this Cathedral Church.

Friends receive regular newsletters which outline recent and proposed developments. The Friends’ AGM, in the spring, is enlivened with guest speakers from many different and exciting avenues of life.

Outings and events provide further opportunities to meet and share our mutual interests. Our service, subscriptions and gifts benefit the work of God in this holy place.

In the past The Friends have contributed to the repairs to stonework, restoration of silver, to sound systems, pianos, the design and creation of new copes for the Dean and Residentiary Canons, the redevelopment of the Thomlinson Room and much more. Many are also actively involved as volunteers in the Cathedral’s everyday activities.
