The following are provided to assist visitors to understand the Cathedral as a Christian place of worship:
a) Welcome leaflets – giving information about the history of the building and about how various features are used in Christian worship.
b) Information sheets about key pieces of liturgical furniture.
c) Gospel Imprints. ‘Gospel Imprint’ is the fresh voice in Anglicanism sharing free resources with those who are seeking to learn, worship and witness to the generosity of the Kingdom of God. There are three series of leaflets – Christian Faith, Christian Life and Christian Prayer. Each leaflet gives an introduction to an aspect of the Christian faith. The leaflets are free and are available on the Cathedral’s Welcome Desk. The leaflets can also be accessed on www.gospelimprint.com
A ‘Children’s Corner’ can be found in St Margaret’s Chapel in the Cathedral. It contains books, soft toys and drawing and colouring equipment for young children.
Near the Welcome Desk at the west end of the Cathedral is a Votive Candle Stand. This is for those who wish to light a candle and to say a prayer while they are in the Cathedral. Requests for prayer left by visitors are included in the prayers said at Evening Prayer each day. At the Votive Candle Stand there is a ‘Guide to Prayer’ leaflet, together with a selection of prayers which visitors may find helpful.
