Join us for Choral Evensong, led by the Cathedral Choir (or occasionally, a visiting Choir). A much loved service in the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer, with a beautiful choral setting, psalms, canticles, anthem, and congregational hymns. Please come and sit in the Quire (the seats nearest the High Altar) where the service sheets and hymn books may be found – or if you prefer simply to listen, you are very welcome to sit in the pews.

Early risers will be in good company for our simple service of Morning Prayer every weekday! Join us at 7:30am for a half-hour of prayer and scripture readings in St George's Chapel followed by Holy Communion at 8:00am, Monday-Friday. All welcome.

This is a time of considerable pressure for young people in the UK and not least in the North East. Conditions of austerity and the reduction in facilities and services are severe. Many civil society organisations aim to respond to these circumstances and to stand with young people. The Children’s Society has projects for young people recently arriving in the North East as refugees, and those at risk of or escaping situations of exploitation. NIGHT CHURCH takes place at Newcastle Cathedral on the last Friday of every month. The Cathedral stays open until midnight: a Friday night at the heart of our great and bustling city. No charge.
